Kutchan Matsuri

Yesterday i went up to the Wing Bay shopping center in Otaru. It is a big complex with four floors of shopping in 6 "avenues" which were more like building divisions. It at least had a very cheap parking complex. I went to the dollar store first when i came in and looked for some things for the classes. I bought four packs of poker cards to use them for an activity. Then i went to the fourth floor of postful to look at the stuff there. I ended up buying a toast plate to make eggs and whatever in the morning for about 3 dollars. That was pretty much all i bought. The complex itself was huge. They have a Ferris wheel outside, a sports club complex with a pool and everything, a large game center for print club stickers and UFO catchers. Various stores for home decorum, a pet store, and large food court and grocery on the first floor. After that i drove home and on the way home in Kutchan i saw they were having a Matsuri so i decided to see it. It wasn't very different from the one that was in Rankoshi as far as the vendors street. It was however much longer. They did have like basically all the same stuff multiple times down the whole avenue but they had candied fruit, or rather, fruit that has been dipped in this melted sugar coating, though it could have been mizuame which is a type of syrup from a plant other than corn. I forgot which one exactly. I had this candy in Kamakura and it was okay. They had a whole bunch of different kinds though, like melon, pineapple, and others besides apples and grapes. It was okay. Another three day weekend. It's still not really cold enough to go to a hot spring, but i may go up to Sapporo either today or tomorrow. The thing is that these places are so far away and it takes like two hours to get to the really big cities here. Then gas is a problem i spend about 30 bucks a week on gas, and most of that is for the times that i go to church or Sapporo. oh well, i guess it's better than taking the train.
