Ehomaki for Setsubun

 

Last shot of my beard, i shaved it off after this.

Today was fun. It was setsubun and i had only two classes to teach. After my first class i was invited to the special ed kids to participate in the Setsubun activities with them. I was an oni with a kanabo while the kids threw peanuts at me for it. Then we ate the peanuts. They were still in the shell so they weren't dirty when we ate them. Then i had an elective English class that i was in charge of. We did fractions, shapes, and directions. It was a little long of a review to get to the game, but i think by the end they could say most of the fractions. Then the teacher said that this stuff was on like the college entrance exams, so i guess we got ahead for them. Then i left school and went to the convenience store in order to buy an ehomaki for setsubun. It was good and i took pictures. This year's lucky direction is west southwest. setsubun is pretty much lunar new year's, especially since Japan was on the lunar solar calendar like the Chinese were. So it was fun, but i can't wait till the snow festival this weekend. The special ed head teacher also invited me to come back for when they do something for the doll festival in March.
